I'm uploading ART, oh my god. The free time that comes when you sprain your ankle.
...Tell me though, seriously, why must I cause myself semi-serious injury to have free time to work on something as simple as art? Or at least...not half ass sketches and doodles that I try to hide every time my friends come over, but never quite manage?
I spent a quite amount of time on this line art, and I think nice line art should be appreciated just as much as colored pieces, hence why I'm placing it as a 'completed Deviation' /snootytoneofvoice.
I've been working on a fairy tale, and this girlie is the main character. She is a curse breaker...which means she tries to find loopholes in the curses that ebil witches and wizards like to place on poor hapless damsels and doods in distress. Obviously...this may require some hand to hand combat, so I gave her a pair o' sais, as a shout out to my buddy Marie. I tend to give my female characters my own favorite weapon (I practice archery on a daily basis. Except when I do dumb shit like trip over the dog and sprain my ankle. LOL), but I thought the sais were a nice change of pace. And I can't draw swords for SHIT, it's humilating really. I'm digressing, and rambling, I apologize.
....Which I just realized...I gave her absolutely no place to put them...just pretend she shoves them in her belt, even though that would obviously be uncomfortable, and not very practical in a combat situation, so SHHHHH.
I see the obvious flaws in her hands, and I think her head is a wee bit out of proportion...it looked better on paper. Blegh. But feel free to point out any other screw ups. ^_^ As this is inked and I'm not skilled enough in digital mediums to fix it, I can't say I'll fix it this go-round, but I'll check and see if I can fix it the next ride 'round the carosel.
Materials Used: Bristol Paper, assorted mechanical pencils (as I keep losing them..) and various Micron pens, mostly the .005, and the .2.
Though with my recent run of bad luck, I just had more time to sit down and try to do something that wasn't those aforementioned half ass sketches. I have a tendency to just...give up in the middle of something, and then it turns into crap.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
